Honda finally brought out the big guns.
The ZR-V isn't another Elevate rival. It's a completely different animal , bigger, pricier, and imported straight from Honda's overseas line as a CBU.
Deliveries kick off this month. So let's get into what you're actually paying for.
The Powertrain
2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, working mostly as a generator
e:HEV twin-motor hybrid system — the electric motor does the actual driving
184hp / 315Nm combined output
e-CVT gearbox with Econ, Normal, and Sport modes (paddle shifters control regen braking)
In plain English: it drives like an EV around town, and the petrol engine kicks in mostly to keep the battery fed. Honda's claiming 22.8 kmpl ARAI-certified — genuinely impressive for something this size.
For comparison:
Skoda Kodiaq: 14.86 kmpl
VW Tiguan: 12.58 kmpl
That's not a close fight.
Size and Dimensions
Length: 4,567mm
Width: 1,840mm
Height: 1,621mm
Wheelbase: 2,655mm
Boot space: up to 1,313 litres with rear seats folded
It sits comfortably in the mid-size SUV bracket — bigger than a Creta, smaller than a Fortuner.
What You Get on the Outside
Full LED headlamps and tail-lights
18-inch alloy wheels
Dual exhaust tips
4 colour options
Inside the Cabin
Honda's kept it mostly black and minimalist, but loaded the feature list:
10.1-inch digital instrument cluster
Dash-mounted touchscreen
Leatherette seats with contrast stitching
Powered front seats
Two-zone automatic climate control
Wireless phone charging
Powered tailgate
Button-operated gear selector
Safety
Six airbags standard. No word yet on ADAS specifics, so we'll update this once Honda confirms the full safety suite.
Price and Variants
Here's the twist — there's only one variant. Fully loaded, no trim ladder to climb.
Expected price: around ₹40 lakh, ex-showroom.
That puts it up against the higher trims of the Tiguan, Kodiaq, and Tucson — not the entry-level versions. So don't go in expecting Creta money.
Should You Wait for It?
If mileage and refinement matter more to you than outright badge prestige, the ZR-V's hybrid math is hard to ignore. But at ₹40 lakh for a single trim, you're not getting to pick and choose features — you're either in for everything, or you're looking elsewhere.
We'll have pricing confirmation and on-road impressions soon. Stay tuned.
