Okay, so this one's wild.
Skoda dropped the Kodiaq RS in India at ₹66.99 lakh ex-showroom.
All 50 units. Gone. In six minutes.
Not six days. Not six hours. Six minutes.
Why does that matter?
Because it tells you something about where the Indian premium SUV buyer's head is at right now. There's clearly an appetite for something loud and fast that isn't just another Fortuner or Endeavour rival playing it safe.
What makes it an RS, not just a fancier Kodiaq?
2.0L TSI turbo-petrol, retuned to 265 PS and 400 Nm — that's a proper 60+ hp bump over the regular Kodiaq
7-speed DSG automatic + all-wheel drive
0-100 in 6.3 seconds, top speed of 231 kmph
Blacked-out grille, alloys, roof rails, ORVMs, plus a roof spoiler and dual exhaust tips
All-black seven-seat cabin, 12.9-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital cluster
Ventilated + massage front seats (yes, really)
13-speaker Canton sound system
Nine airbags, 360-degree camera, ADAS — so it's not all show
The catch:
It's a CBU import. Fully built abroad, shipped in as-is. That's exactly why it costs nearly ₹20 lakh more than the standard Kodiaq, which is locally assembled.
Only one variant. Fully loaded. No decisions to make — either you get the RS or you don't.
Should you have bought one?
Doesn't matter now — they're all spoken for. But if you're the kind of buyer who was even mildly tempted, keep an eye out. Limited runs like this have a habit of getting a second batch if demand's loud enough. And going by that six-minute sellout, demand was very loud.
